Apparitions of your soul

It's funny how the past continues to visit, morphing into fairy tales with ghost-like impressions.

"Funny" really isn't the word for it.
Peculiar, haunting maybe.

I feel paralysed - trapped between historic reality and historical fiction. It's as if my life is a myth; a legend passed down and changed slightly each time the tale leaves the lips of the teller. The gist of the story remains regardless of which details are spoken.

Nothing makes sense today.

"Every moment marked with apparitions of your soul" is a line from a Sarah Mclaughlin song: "Do What You Have To Do" from Surfacing.

At night I sometimes have "out of body" experiences - that sense of looking at my life as an outsider... Sometimes it is hard to remember what is real and what is made up.

There was a study where people wrote down their recollection of an event and then when they revisited it, their verbal retelling differed significantly from what they wrote. In fact some wouldn't even believe that the written form was theirs - that is must have been forged.

No real point to this - it was just an interesting thing about remembering the past.
